My new favorite color!

Posted by Pat on April 12, 2026 in Uncategorized |

Almost nothing else represents the emergence of spring like the beloved yellow daffodil, happy and bright after its (and my) long winter’s nap.

I think some things on this earth were designed to bring happiness to the hearts of humans: thus the daffodil! It’s as if the sun had shed a layer of skin and fashioned a flower out of it!

I know that some color psychologists tell us that too much yellow can be too stimulating, but present in smaller doses inspires hope and good cheer. And though I don’t know about the “too stimulating” I do know that to me the daffodil is a perfect-sized package of yellow for whenever I may feel energetically low.

Isn’t it amazing how such simple things can have such a great effect? So…at the moment, my favorite color is yellow! (even though it’s not a color I can wear well)

Spring is celebrated as a time of fertility, of rebirth of life and energy. And as gardeners-at-heart (of both physical and mental gardens) we know that there are…

  • plants to be planned,
  • fertilizer to be spread, and
  • weeds to be pulled.

The planning is creating the vision of what we want to have grow. The fertilizing is the nurturing of our vision with thoughts and actions. The weeds are any consistent negative thoughts.

Let’s not be afraid of getting our hands dirty!
