Thursday is special!
This Thursday, August 13, is officially International Left Handers Day! The day is meant to promote awareness of the inconveniences facing left handers in a predominantly right handed world. It celebrates our uniqueness.
And I’m part of the 7-10% of the population that is left-handed, as was my dad and my son!
What about you? Who do you know that’s left-handed? Are you?
We lefties are in good company…the ranks of left handers includes such luminaries as Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, Bill Gates Jim Hendrix, Oprah Winfrey, as well as Napoleon, Prince William, several presidents, and (maybe even you?)
And for all you right-handed folks, well you also are in good company with the 90%+/- of the rest of the population!
So this Thursday is a day to celebrate one of our differences. But it is such a minor difference! We are really all much more alike than different.
We should be using all our days to celebrate our similarities, our ONENESS as this quote from Billy Graham reminds us…
We’re all part of this same human family and we’ve all been blessed with the ability to both receive and to give love, peace, time, prosperity.
So let’s do it!
