What are you doing with your “time out?”

hourglass for timeout

Sometimes time passes quickly and sometimes it passes slowly. Even “time outs” are experienced differently, depending on whether you are the one sitting out or the parent who called for it!

When do you finally call “time out?”

Sometimes I wait too long, trying to hold it all together, thinking “it” will get better. I guess admitting I need a timeout  would mean I’m not as calm, cool, and collected as I’d like to be so I continue to fake being in control.

Do you find it easy or difficult to call time out?

What do you do with your “time out?”

When (and if) I’m smart, I do some deep breathing, some conscious muscle relaxing, and give myself permission to do nothing for 10 minutes (or whatever time I think it will take me.) Sometimes that even means taking a nap!

I don’t really want to waste any of my limited time on unhappiness, regret, anger, boredom, fear or depression and I’m sure you don’t either!

 life is short

Every day of life is invaluable. Don’t waste one.

If we live to age 90, how many days do we have left?

Add them up. it’s really not that many, is it?

Don’t waste any part of any of them!

Let’s do everything in our power to enjoy every single day-to treat every day like it is the most valuable, remarkable, exquisite gift we could every receive.

IT IS!

And, since there is really only “now” to experience, we can choose to make each moment/day/week/month/year as

  • lively, lincoln quote
  • peaceful,
  • meaningful,
  • fun, or
  • astonishing…as we want!

What will put the life in your years?
