Reader’s Bill of Rights? Part A
Posted by Pat on July 16, 2016 in Uncategorized | ∞
Who knew?! There’s a “Bill of Rights” for us readers by French author, Daniel Pennac.
I was tickled to find his revealing list and started thinking of some of my own. Let me know if any of these resonate with you and if you have found others!
1. The right to not read.
And here’s one habit I learned as a youngster:
(because everyone in my family always brought a book with them-to the store, to the doctors, to anyplace there might be a few minutes to read!)
2. The right to read anywhere.
3. The right to reread.
4. The right to read anytime.
I know you avid readers have other “rights” that are important to you! And I’d love to have you share them in the comments section.
Next week, I’ll continue with your additions and a few of my own.
Come back next week for Part B!

I agree with C. S. Lewis!
Carol, I know quite a few of us readers reread our favorites a number of times! I’m hooked right now on some “young adult” science fiction.
The right to not finish a book.
