Life is..?
Did you ever get lost on Google? I spent an untold amount of time searching for quotes that I could include when I write about what “Life” is to me.
And I found so many fascinating quotes that I decided that this post would just be a summary of my favorites. I narrowed it down to these eight.
And I’d like you to choose which one is your favorite. Or if your favorite isn’t here, tell me what you would have included if it were your list.
Maybe we can learn as much when we disagree with one of these ideas as we do when we agree with it.
Choose one and please share your choice with us!

The quote by Rose Kennedy is amazing especially when you consider the life she lived and tragedies she experienced. We are taught by parents and society to create and work for milestones in life and you will be successful. But moments are what are really happening to us all the time. Milestones are either in the past or the future, right?
Dave, I think it would be difficult to know if something was a milestone until it had already happened. We can think something will be one, but we are often surprised.
Rhonda Byrne is my “man!!!!”–or rather woman.
George, I certainly like this particular idea that Rhonda Byrne shared here!
Thanks for all the research. Am enjoying this.
Rose Kennedy. There are special moments in your life that you always remember. You never know when they come your way. When they do, enjoy them.
Earl B
Earl, those special moments can catch us by surprise. But they are the blessings we treasure the most.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the time life you’ve imagined.
Henry David Thoreau
Meg, thanks for sharing Thoreau! The universe does conspire to support us as we move confidently in the direction of our dreams.
I also like the Rhonda Byrne one, but I also really like Meg’s post from Thoreau.
Cindy, it is difficult to pick just one, I know. You’ve no idea how many others I wanted to include when I narrowed it down to 8!
Different quotes seem more apropos at different times, don’t they? To avoid the victim role, the Rhonda Byrne quote seems right. But then it could also be used to beat oneself up – as in “I actually caused all this chaos in my life!” Right now, for me, the Einstein quote does the trick! Just keep on moving – even if slowly – and you can right yourself. Balance. I like that word!
Fay, I guess that there are many, many messages that resonate, depending on the moment!
And I do know that as Einstein said, it’s easier to change directions and even to stay upright by being in motion!
I’m voting for Forest Gump. I can just hear him saying that. And I like chocolate.
Mary Kay, Chocolate is good, very good! After all, my sister and I once had a chocolate store where we sampled and sold our favorite food!
I like the Robert Frost quote “Life Goes on” for it does in deed.
Cecelia, Sometimes we don’t see the blessing in that, but it’s always there, that next opportunity to find peace and joy.
