Is it art? You be the judge!

Posted by Pat on October 18, 2015 in Uncategorized |

There is fascinating research saying that 98% of us test as highly creative at the age of five, and by age twenty-five, only 2% of us test that way.

Since this is the month of Halloween, I’ve just started seeing photos of what are really creative jack-o-lanterns!

Instead of the traditional faces that my sisterspumpkin punch and I carved while growing up, I find that I am attracted to some very weird ones now!

So check out these “art?” pieces and pick your favorite!

I’ll be curious to see what your choice is!

Are you inspired to create your own?

Will you let your inner five year old out?

I’m curious as to which one is your favorite!

Oooooh! The dragon! And yes, of course it’s ART!

    • Pat says:

Fay, of course it’s art! Creativity just is! And one (wo)man’s art is another one’s junk, so who cares which you label it?

I like the dragon too but I think my favorite is the farmer(?) stuck in the pumpkin. Not sure what the definition of art is but I like it and that’s good enough for me.

Mary Kay, I think art is whatever we say it is! And we should encourage its expression in our lives and allow it enthusiastically in the lives of others.

I love the dragon and the carousel! Not only is it art, but in all this there is patience!!

    • Pat says:

Tish, I too noticed the patience that must have been required to create some of this art! I wonder how many pumpkins an artist goes through to get it right!

I prefer the art piece sitting on the table. Actually I like the art work of Mother Nature and often look for it. Sunsets, Fall colors, birds, whatever.

    • Pat says:

Earl, the colors of nature are shown off beautifully in that art pumpkin on the table. It’s gorgeous!

The wide-mouthed pumpkin guy, lower left.it’s scary, and that’s what Halloween is all about. For me it is the expression of “All Souls Day,” at least as many folks see it. Of course Nov. 1 is All Saints Day, perhaps a “Happy Day.” Anyway, it’s all art and good.

    • Pat says:

Meg, yes it’s all art and good! Even when I don’t “get it” or am left with lots of questions because I don’t understand it. Oh, well!
