Who’s Driving Your Car?

Sometimes we act as if we were passengers in the car of our life! Are we “just along for the ride”?
When did we hand over to someone (or something) else the ability to decide where we are going? What route to take? How fast we want to travel?
Since it is a choice whether we sit in the driver’s seat or the passenger’s seat of our life, we can’t pass the buck for the results. And we do know, really, that no decision is a decision. (it’s one for the passenger seat, or heaven forbid, the back seat!)
Sooo…let’s admit the truth and take some action!
Life is not just about existing, floating, or wandering. It’s also about having a purpose, making a difference, experiencing the wonder and joy of being here now.
Since a verb implies actions, which actions will you choose?
And which actions will you change?
- Instead of grasping, we could release.
- Instead of accumulating, we could give.
- Instead of hating, we could love.
- Instead of remaining silent, we could speak up.
- Instead of talking, we could listen.
- In addition to just working, we can play.
- In addition to just saving, we can share.
- In addition to dreaming, we can do.
- In addition to doing, we can dream.
Your life is a verb, and the best verb of all is love.
When you choose love, it encompasses lots of wonderful opportunities to experience beauty, joy, wholeness, peace and wisdom. And your inborn talents and gifts will also enrich the lives of those around you when you drive your car with love as your choice.
How will you change your life by taking charge
and choosing to be in the driver’s seat of your car/life?
What actions seem most important to you?
I’d love to have you share one idea that appeals to you
