What is enough?

Posted by Pat on September 15, 2024 in Uncategorized |

What is enough? Saying that “I am enough” or that “I have enough” or even that “I’ve done enough” often sounds like I’m settling for less than I could be, have, or do. (And probably isn’t even the truth!)

We could consider the option of replacing the word “enough” with the word “plenty.” Notice the difference in feeling and tone generated by the two phrases “I have enough” and “I have plenty.” I’d wager that “plenty” feels much lighter and more serene and joyful to you as well as to me!

We do know that as we live and express an attitude of gratitude, more things and experiences for which we can be grateful seem to show up for us.

Are there just “enough” or “plenty?”

Just look at nature:

  • flowers,
  • leaves,
  • stars,
  • blades of grass,
  • grains of sand,
  • varieties of animals.

Everything in life, from the boundlessness of our inner world to the expansiveness of the universe, is overflowing with abundance.

And we are life expressing. Surrounded by all this extravagant bounty, why do we limit ourselves to “enough?”

Do we see “plenty” in every aspect of our lives? Are we looking for it? Do we accept it? When we really admit it, aren’t we blessed with plentiful…

  • love,
  • friends,
  • health,
  • money,
  • ideas, and
  • opportunities?

Doesn’t the universe say “YES” and “YES” yet again?

Yes, it does and we can show our gratitude by accepting, embodying, sharing and giving thanks for all our blessings.

Life is Good!

MY Life is Good!

YOUR Life is Good!

And so it is!

(And there’s even plenty of chocolate chip cookies!)
