Summer Daze?
It’s summer time (and the living is easy!)
You know what that means right?
Sure… barbequing, beaching, camping, boating, vacationing, picnicking, and sunbathing.
But also potentially the utter collapse of our work momentum and productivity.
It’s true, the dictionary even defines the “Dog Days of Summer” as “lethargy, inactivity or indolence.”
It’s just the part of the normal cycle that we forgot about temporarily this last winter. The ebb and flow of activities, emotions, ideas, decisions are all just part of our summer shift in energy. It’s natural! It’s even healthy!
Let’s give ourselves permission to enjoy it! I have! After all, it is the best way to be in the moment, which is the best time to be in!
(And it’s not all that long before fall and school arrive.)
So… if you are being bugged by your
- to-do list that is still undone,
- lethargy and laziness,
- urge for distractions, any distractions, or
- chatterbox voice in your head that’s berating you for all the above,
then just kick back and take a lesson from your pup,
your kitten,
or your youngster to revel in this brief season!
Life is good, very good, and especially our lives, right now!
So share what you are doing to enjoy this gift of the season, this warm and relaxing time of year, before time moves on to fall!

What am I “doing”? As little as possible. I gave up to do lists. I take care of daily activities but don’t need a list for that. For me, the lazy days of summer continue into the fall and winter. Guess you could call me lazy but I am just enjoying this season of my life.
You are probably a whole lot more productive than you think! Good habits and simple living seem to obviate the need for written lists. I believe the subconscious mind tends to the honey dos when we give it permission to help us run our lives.
I’m busy, busy, busy going through stuff, letting go of stuff and packing stuff to be ready to move once the house sells. But, I mostly motivated to sit in the cool house or in the shade of the outdoor trees and just read a good book! Ahhh, summer…
