Monthly food for thought!
Posted by Pat on January 26, 2014 in Uncategorized | ∞
Do you have any new thoughts as we move forward in 2014? Maybe some old thoughts that are still applicable today?
Do any of these shared today remind you of something you forgot to remember?
I’ve again limited my selections for the end of this month’s review to just eight (and that’s always difficult for me!)
So here’s some food for thought for us all.
Let me know your favorite!

Of course they’re all great but I have to vote for Charlie Brown & Snoopy. There is just something about a dog and anyone who has ever been owned by one will know what I mean.
I agree with Mary Kay. A dog is such a great friend and partner……..listens without judgement, stays with you no matter what, and is full of love!
Mary Kay AND Tish! There’s a delightful little book by Alan Cohen titled “Are You as Happy as Your Dog?” that reminds me vividly of the great qualities of our dogs that we would do well to emulate!
I choose the rocking chair. We missed a flight to Walla Walla so sat in rocking chairs at the Seattle airport and waited for the late one.
Couldn’t get anywhere so just rocked away the time.
Earl, It sounds like you used the rocking chair just fine! Worrying would not have been nearly so comforting as the chair.
May I take two? 🙂
The tiny Marilyn & the Nature ones are my favorites.
I have learned SO much about living from the kids in our lives. The one re Nature gives me an instant sense if connection to all things. I feel at once small, and mighty! With both, I gain a sense of being significant. Thank you, Par!
I like Peanuts & Little Marilyn – Sweet!
Theresa AND Joy-that little “Marilyn” sure is cute and reminds us of the intensity of child-like enthusiasm!
Two, please. Snoopy and Charlie Brown are so spot on. Interestingly, my take on it goes the other way: I need to BE the friend that comes to sit with the one in need, the dog, as long as it takes.
And, oh my goodness, I am sooo good at doing the nonessentials! Very productive that way! It seem rather to leave a few ‘must do’ items on the table, though.
You sure do find some doozies, Pat! Thanks for bringing them to us in batches like this! Brilliant.
having the opportunity for the first time in my life to spend extended periods of time with a baby, the quote about the child means the most to me. Thanks for sharing, Pat!
Faith, children remind us the awe we may have forgotten as we became “adulterated.”
